Personal blog design – redefining personal resume

Personal blog design

WalterPinson.comis a recent addition to our blog design portfolio. We created this personal promotion blog for IT executive and professional, a president of a local IT company.  We created unique design and very structured layout, customized WordPress blog to allow posting into various areas with different custom components. Overall, we feel the project was a complete success and receives positive feedback.

We believe that personal blog design will continuously evolve over next years due to ever-improving technology that makes it all happen. A golden standard of web publishing – LTFW (Linked In, Twitter, Facebook, WordPress) - applies to personal promotion more then to anything else. While many other blogging platforms have evolved over time, WordPress continues to lead the market and provide outstanding flexibility and expandability. Linked In, Twitter and Facebook all work as  essential marketing tools all culminating in visit to the personal site with in-depth research and more information about publisher.

With this in mind, publishers beware. The same way your customers view your information, competitors will do so as well. While we all try to put as much interesting information out for all to see in order to generate buzz, how can we draw the line and limit exposure to potentially damaging research on yourself? The answer is we can’t We believe that the strategy of not revealing information about your own or your company’s expertise in specific areas is more damaging then chance that your direct competitor will stumble upon your blog and get same idea. Its important to lead and present yourself as a leader of the industry, field or niche market. Therefore, better and more unique your blog design is, more will you stand out from the crowd gaining more prospects and clients.

And here comes the idea. If you loose your job nd in process of looking for new one, don’t you think that being a professional also means you absolutely have to show your prospective employer that you are savvy in all aspects of the todays digital marketing and promotion? Design your own blog, don’t try to save several thousand dollars and have this done by a professional. This will help you land a better job and open posssiblities to consulting and freelance work in your field. If you haven’t already done so, make a Twitter page, Linked In page and Facebook (if appropriate). All this together really means ‘resume’ in 2009, not just that piece of paper you send.
